Considering how 2021 has been so far, it is safe to say this is what we all need. Lush Life ties in the world of jazz, funk and soul music, with the world of art from Hockley Hustle and great food and drink from Nottingham Street Food Club. Altogether, this is a part of a celebration of the reopening of the Nottingham Castle and the start of their Late’s programmes. With the festival set to be on Thursday 12th of August 2021, it is also a part of the celebration of Mimm’s 10th Birthday.
Lush Life will have many local artists who have been a part of Mimm’s journey over the past 10 years. With live music acts and DJ sets from the likes of Yazmin Lacey, Ella Knight, Alex Mighten, Saffron and sets from DJs, SphSqrs and Soul Sister, Lush Life is set to be somewhat of a remedy to the people’s problems; something the people of Nottingham and beyond have needed for a long period of time. With live music events being a pillar in Nottingham’s culture, and considering the pandemic has halted many events across the UK and the globe, this is one you cannot miss.
As this is a ticketed event, and only limited to 500 tickets, you’ll need to be quick. It has been planned for Lush Life to be an annual festival in the heart of the city. You can sign up to be the first to know when the tickets drop. The profits of the ticket sales will be donated to Nottingham Central Women’s Aid, which supports women and children who are escaping domestic violence and abuse. Profits will also go to the sponsorship of CUBE for their forthcoming project in which will give women and non binary individuals access and support to gain vital experience in various sectors of the music industry.
