(Art) The Grime Scene Re-Imagined as British Nobility

Reuben Dangoor, a 27 year old self taught artist from North London has been causing a stir recently with his depictions of the UK grime scene as monarchs of old.

At a time when grime is eclipsing in its popularity and power, Dangoor thought it was only right to give a nod towards the kings of the scene, past and present in his own Rennaisance style paintings. The subjects of his work include veterans Skepta, D Double E and new heads like Stormzy sporting his renowned red tracksuit. Wiley, looking like something out of Sin City sporting a cape and riding a motorbike doesn't quite fit the theme but we're not complaining...
