Akomplice started in 2004 and was found by two brothers Patrick and Mike Liberty. Going by the philosophy of; Evolution through Innovation, Akomplice has created an apparel which breeds powerful messages. Recently they have collaborated with Joey Bada$$ and the J Dilla Foundation to supply $10,000 worth of musical production equipment, which Joey Bada$$ has donated to his high school for a newly created music production program.
A video was shared on Thanksgiving by Akomplice, which pieces together there philanthropic project that consisted of a capsule collection (J DILLA X AKOMPLICE X JOEY BADA$$) and an unreleased track dubbed “Two Lips". All the profits from the project were donated to youth music programmes in Dilla and Joey's hometowns, Brooklyn and Detroit.
In the video we see Joey and his Pro Era crew return to his old school, The Edward R. Murrow High School. Here we see that the donation is definitely going to come to good use. Detroit will be the next donation stop and we hope to see another video from Akomplice documenting there next donation.
Also look out for Joey Bada$$'s upcoming album B4.DA.$$dropping on 20th January, 2015...
